- FT102 mods
- ==========
-
- CW chirp on first character element.
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This effect was noticeable on early production run models. The amount of
- chirp varies with the setting of the shift/width control.
- Remedy: remove C153, 3u3 from PLL board. (Twist and rip to remove.)
-
- Key clicks on CW.
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Add 1uF 50v electrolytic on RF PCB between long lead of R1045 and test pin
- G1, +ve lead to R1045 (scrape paint off lead first). Cut white wire to J4017
- on PLL board and insulate. (J4017 is in Q4007,8,9,11 area of PLL board and
- may, in some manuals, be wrongly identified as J4015. Identify the four
- transistors mentioned and the correct point will be clearly seen.)
-
- Protection of TC5081 on AM/FM unit.
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Replace L6002 and L6004 with 56R 1/8W resistors. These become known as
- R6056 and R6057 respectively. Insert a 470R 1/8W resistor (R6058) in the
- lead to pin 5 of Q6013 (TC5081). Technique is to cut the track and bridge
- the cut with the resistor. Decouple pin 5 of Q6013 to ground with a .047uF
- 50v ceramic cap (C6074). (Yaesu factory mod.)
